Mark Molloy grew up on a farm in the Australian outback, with two brothers, one sister and 50 cousins. Growing tired of being one of three Molloys on his football team, Mark left looking to the big city to discover newer, greater things. After graduating with a degree in graphic design, he moved to London to join the acclaimed Why Not Associates in London from 1996 to 2001, where he began his directing career. Returning home to Australia in 2001, Mark quickly began crafting extraordinary imagery in film, taking him onto win numerous awards worldwide.
Molloy directed an Arla campaign with Wieden + Kennedy / London, which introduced the new brand platform of ‘Natural Goodness’ with the line: Let in the Goodness. His inspiring film for Samsung titled “Every Day Is Day One” with 72andSunny Amsterdam, is emotionally captivating, as is his spot for Qantas, which explores themes of family and finding your way home. The spot won in several categories at the 2015 Cannes awards.
Comfortable with both real people and actors, cinematic or documentary, Mark has a unique way of creating work that effects people. His instincts as a director and storyteller so effectively evoke emotions, feelings and memories, that he manages to ignites peoples imaginations.
